The 4th of July is upon us….can you believe it?!  This summer season is flying by; therefore, the upcoming holiday weekend is THE perfect time to celebrate a bit with some friends and the fam.

Be it a weekend getaway at the lake or an intimate gathering that concludes with fireworks, food and beverage ideas abound this time of year.  From red, white, and blue desserts to grilled summertime staples, there is something for just about everyone!

At e.Allen HQ, our headquarters location for all things fashion, we have been anticipating this holiday weekend for some time.  While we normally devote our time and attention to fashion details and in style apparel, we certainly enjoy expanding the likes of our brand to other areas as well!  For this 4th of July we have been waiting on for quite some time, our team pulled together some great ideas for what you might be sipping on, noshing on, AND of course…..celebrating IN:)

To Sip….

  • PATRIOTIC PUNCH

Ingredients: 8 cups cubed watermelon, 3/4 cup sugar, 1/2 cup lime juice, 1 cup pineapple juice, 12 ounce can of club soda, 2 cups vodka or tequila

How-to: Blend or process watermelon.  Whisk sugar and lime juice together and add to watermelon in a pitcher.  Stir in pineapple juice and chill.  Last, fill 8 glasses halfway with ice. Stir club soda and alcohol into watermelon mixture and pour into those iced glasses….cheers and happy 4th!

To Nosh….

  • STRAWBERRY PIE

Ingredients: pre made pie crust, 1/2 cup heavy cream, 2 8-ounce blocks of cream cheese, 1/2 cup sugar, juice of 1 lemon, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1 1/2 pounds sliced strawberries, 3 tablespoons strawberry or raspberry preserves

How-to: Cook crust according to directions.  Using a mixer, beat heavy cream about 7-8 minutes and then add in cream cheese and sugar until smooth.  Add in lemon juice and vanilla.  Fold in whipped cream and then pour into pice crust.  Arrange sliced strawberries in a circle formation across the top of pie.  Heat preserves and drizzle on top.  Chill/refrigerate and voila!

To Celebrate In….

  • Palmer Laced Top – Wooden Ships nailed it with this navy and red striped sweater.  Pop it on with some white denim shorts for a complete festive look!
  • Elisa Dress – This red Sundays dress would be perfect for this weekend and beyond.  Pairing it with our Ralla sandal in either ivory or tan is a win!
  • Paloma Romper – A little white number is equally as much of a necessity as a little black dress these days.  This romper would look great paired with any of our red sandals for the 4th and just about any neutral shoes thereafter!
